History of Promac
Promac was founded by G.P. Hoorn in 1963 in the wake of ship propellers producer Van Voorden in Zaltbommel, The Netherlands, of which he was managing director. Hoorn realized much more was needed on ships and vessels than just propellers and decided to start his own company in propulsion and manoeuvring systems, deck equipment and cooling and water installations.
Servicing vessels became the second pillar of the company. As every day a vessel can’t sail is costing a lot of money, Promac made it a priority to solve any mechanical problem as soon as possible. Therefore our service department operates worldwide and on a 24/7 basis.
The second generation owners is still actively involved in the company.
With over 50 years of experience Promac is a family run trading company with its own engineering department, assembling and production workshop, service department and a spare parts and maintenance department of both Promac products and other brands.
